What we believe

1. GOD
We believe in God who is the creator of all things and is eternally existent, without beginning or end. He is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent and holy. We can know Him through His word in which He has revealed Himself and made Himself known to man. God exists in three separate but equal persons : the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

2. THE BIBLE
We believe that every word of scripture as contained in the Old and New Testaments is the complete and infallible word of God. The Bible alone speaks with final authority and is the only foundation for our faith and practice.

3. JESUS CHRIST
We believe that Jesus Christ existed before all things and that He is the creator of all things. He is fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life and on the cross He died in the place of sinners, bearing God's punishment for their sin, redeeming them by His blood. He rose from the dead, and in His resurrection body ascended into Heaven where He is exalted as Lord of all. He intercedes for His people in the presence of the Father.

4. MANKIND
We believe that because of the disobedience of Adam ( original sin ), every human being has inherited a sinful nature that produces outward acts of sin ( personal sin ). Even his good works are tainted with sin. Consequently, all of mankind has incurred God's wrath and judgment and has come short of God's glory and thus, are in need of salvation. The ultimate end of this sinfulness is eternal separation from God.

5. FULL AND FREE SALVATION
We believe that salvation is offered to all of humanity through the redeeming work of Jesus Christ on the cross of calvary, so that all who repent and believe the gospel are forgiven their sins and justified in the sight of God. God responds to any sinner who comes to Him in faith and repentance, forgiving them and adopting them into His family and granting them eternal life. Salvation is entirely a work of grace ( unmerited favour ) and it cannot be earned or deserved.

6. BAPTISM
We believe that all those who have accepted Christ as their personal Saviour should be baptised by full immersion in water in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Baptism is a declaration of union with Christ, a public confession of faith, a sign of cleansing from sin, and an act of obedience.

7. THE SANCTIFYING WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that whilst we are justified ( made acceptable to God ) instantly when we accept Christ, God loves us too much to leave us the way we are and has made provision for us to be changed and transformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ, an image which was lost when Adam sinned , but which now can be regained in Jesus Christ. This change is a process which takes place in our lives through the work of the Holy Spirit, a work which mankind is utterly unable to accomplish in his own strength.

8. THE GIFTS AND MINISTRIES OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the Holy Spirit who has been sent from Heaven to indwell believers, empowering them for worship and service, by bestowing on them spiritual gifts and ministries. These gifts are to reflect through believers the works and abilities of Christ.

9. ONE CHURCH
We believe in one true universal church comprised of all true believers from different local churches over whom Christ is the head.

10. THE PRIESTHOOD OF BELIEVERS
We believe that all believers are called to be priests and to enter into service in God's kingdom, useing their spiritual gifts to build up the church.

11. THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS
We believe in the second coming of Jesus and the bodily resurrection and final judgement of all of mankind, some to everlasting life and some to everlasting punishment.

12. THE LORD'S SUPPER
We believe that Jesus instructed believers to partake of the Lord's Supper, remembering what He has done for us and proclaiming this until He returns.

Romans 10:9-13
If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile - the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
